Learn the latest from Washington (and nationally) about labor relations and employment law during this labor relations webinar. Nick Munday of IRI Consultants and G. Roger King of the HR Policy Association will discuss what the impact of the Presidential Election, the PRO Act and mail-ballot elections will have on health care employers. The webinar also will address data and labor trends recently published in the latest ASHHRA Labor Activity in Health Care Report and the tactics unions are using to organize health care employers. The presenters will review best practices to use to prepare for potential union activity.

Presenters

Nick Munday
Consultant, IRI Consultants
Nick Munday has more than 15 years of human resources and labor relations experience, specializing in counter union organizing campaigns, representation elections, and communications strategies. He has advised clients with some of the country’s fastest-changing workforces, including health care, education, retail and manufacturing. Throughout his career, Nick has delivered successful labor relations, employee relations, union avoidance, management development, corporate campaign, and employee/management education strategies to publicly-traded, privately-held, and nonprofit organizations across the United States. His experience also includes delivering management and employee training, conducting focus groups, and performing issue analysis and intelligence gathering. Nick’s expertise in labor and employment-focused issues has been sought after by professional organizations across the country. He has spoken on panels for various industry and trade groups. His work has appeared in publications and materials for a number of national HR organizations. Nick holds a Master of Business Administration from Rollins College and Bachelor’s degrees from Oakland University. He is proficient in Spanish.

Roger King
Senior Labor and Employment Counsel, HR Policy Association
Roger King is a highly regarded labor relations attorney, whose career spans more than 40 years. Roger recently retired as a partner with Jones Day law firm. He now serves as Senior Labor and Employment counsel for HR Policy Association. Roger specializes in labor and employment, collective bargaining, contract administration and representation campaigns. Roger represented the winning side as co-counsel in the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case known as Noel Canning, which successfully challenged President Obama’s authority to make recess appointments to the National Labor Relations Board. After graduating from Cornell University Law School, he was a Captain and Legal Services Officer in the United States Air Force, on the Staff of United States Senator Robert Taft, Jr. and, subsequently, was appointed as Professional Staff Counsel to the United States Senate Labor Committee. Roger has testified before both the U.S. Senate and House Labor Committees, is a fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, and serves on the Advocacy Committee of the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Association (ASHHRA) and on the Executive Committee of the Ohio State Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Section Council.
